Sunshine PonyCon is looking for volunteer Team Leads to help make SPC 2027 happen!

We're a community-driven convention run by people who care about creating something fun, welcoming, and just a little respectfully unhinged. Our Team Leads help turn ideas into reality by organizing volunteers, coordinating projects, and making sure their corner of the convention actually happens.

What Does Being a Team Lead Involve?

These are unpaid volunteer positions, and most roles will likely require a few hours of work per week during the planning season.

The workload will vary depending on the department and how close we are to the convention. Some weeks may be quiet; others may require more time, especially as the event approaches. Team Leads should also expect to have significant responsibilities during the convention itself.

Team Leads are expected to communicate regularly, coordinate with other departments, help guide volunteers, and keep event leadership informed about their progress.

You don't need to be a professional or have years of convention experience. We're looking for people who are dependable, collaborative, willing to learn, and comfortable asking for help when they need it.

    We're Currently Recruiting:

    • A/V Lead
    • Registration Lead
    • Sponsor Lead
    • Social Media Lead
    • Website Lead

Interested in joining us? You can apply for more than one position. Read the descriptions below to learn more about each role.

    A Few Things to Know

All positions are volunteer roles with Rising Phoenix Forums Inc., the nonprofit organization behind Sunshine PonyCon.

Team Leads help manage their assigned areas under the direction of event leadership. They are not corporate officers or directors and cannot independently make financial or contractual commitments on behalf of the organization without authorization.

Most importantly, we don't expect you to do everything yourself. Being a Team Lead means helping organize the work, communicating with your team, and making sure problems are identified early enough that we can solve them together.
